You are educated. Your certification is in your degree. You may think of it as the ticket to the good life. Let me ask you to think of an alternative. Think of it as your ticket to change the world.
Because the truth is, that if you WISH to, you can do almost anything. There are very few people that actually have enough cajones to go after something and change it, but it only takes a very few to do it. I've seen it happen, so I know it.
I think that in the final analysis, leading by example is the most effective way to elicit change. What I say is of little significance unless I follow it by action. It is so remarkably simple that for a very long time I did not believe it - always in it for me, never really caring beyond self. As it turns out, what is best for all IS best for me. Simple, no?
There's a lot we can do in the world around us. I may not have far reaching influence, but I do have a lot of influence with my family and friends. I don't take this lightly. My choices affect a lot of people, and I feel very accountable for the choices I make. Good quote.
To put college degrees into a slightly different perspective, a commencement speaker once remarked that the degree was merely a "learner's permit" on life. We should use it to open doors to new opportunites, but once the door is open, understand there is still much to learn (professionally, about life, etc.)

That's a great quote right there. I feel you have to keep reinventing yourself every few years or else life just gets plain boring. Write on!
One thing my life is definitely not is boring!
If only it were so easy to change the world.
Wait a minute, do I sound jaded or what?

Good quote, though!
